The World Indigenous Television Broadcasting Conference – WITBC ’10 – will be hosted by Taiwan Indigenous TV (TITV) / Public Television Service (PTS) – under the umbrella of the Taiwan Broadcasting System – in Taipei, Taiwan, in March 2010.
The theme of WITBC ’10 will be ‘Facing the Challenge in Digital Age for Indigenous Media’. The aim of the conference is to exchange the experiences of the operation and development of indigenous broadcasting and to encourage interaction among the indigenous media worldwide.
A special feature of the event will be a film festival which will showcase the wisdom of indigenous people and the preservation of a sustainable environment.
WITBC ’10 will also include a two-day cultural tour to the picturesque eastern Hualien and Taitung counties of Taiwan. Eight out of 14 Aboriginal communities in Taiwan live in the east.
